The City High School Networking Academy is an authorized Cisco Networking Academy and is the only high-school program offering all four (4) components of the CCNA training in two school years in Iowa City. All completed Cisco Networking Academy credits are transferable to various colleges and universities.

Course content includes; • Computer Basics • The OSI Model • Local Area Networks • Electronics and Signals • Media and Connections • Network Concepts and Technologies • Network Design and Documentation • Routing and Addressing • Protocols • Wide Area Networks • Router Command Line Interface • Router Configuration • Network Troubleshooting • Introduction to Network Security • Network Management • and Wireless Networking

The program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the field of computer networking, and related careers. The program integrates Cisco Systems, Cisco Networking Academy Program™ training to enable the graduate to work with today’s computers and their internetworking components. Students who successfully complete the Cisco Networking Academy Program at City High School will be eligible to receive up to 12 "College" Credits from the Kirkwood Community College. The program is open to students from City and West High Schools in Iowa City.
